Prepare for Asbestos Removal

Obtain work instructions and participate in review of asbestos removal control plan (ARCP) and safe work method statements (SWMS).
Gather safety requirements and data from an on-site assessment and asbestos register where available.
Use information sources to ensure the ARCP and SWMS are site-specific for the removal of asbestos materials.
Select tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) consistent with job requirements to carry out tasks, check for serviceability, and rectify or report faults prior to commencement.
Notify regulator, occupants, neighbours, and other affected parties according to legislation and within limits of own responsibility and code of practice.

The Supervisor shall identify all asbestos to be removed. It is suggested that a Dymark paint or similar be used to identify ACM. It is recommended that any non-asbestos containing materials that is to be removed, should be removed prior to asbestos removal work to minimise the amount of decontamination work upon completion.
